Australian Paralysis Ticks are notoriously venomous for a tick. and they can really hurt if they latch onto you. Ticks don’t have eyes! They rely on senses located on their front limbs. It detects heat off another animal. Paralysis Ticks hide in the grass and wait for a host – for example, a rat – to come within range. It then uses its heat sensors to find a place where the blood near the surface of the skin. Then they nestle down and use their straw-like mouth-parts to suck the host’s blood.
